"We had a great time with Karen, our guide. She took us to hike in the rain forest and it was a superb experience. My husband and I as well as our adult children loved our day - last Friday January 4. Karen knows the island and shares interesting and lively stories about it. We definitely recommend her!" You need your own vehicle on your tour. We are happy to recommend an easy way to get one whether you are on week long trip, neighbor island one day excursion, or a Kauai cruise ship passenger on a two day visit.

A vehicle is vital on Kauai whether you are here for a week or more, or on a 2 day cruise ship visit. Your guide will either ride along as navigator in your vehicle or is the lead driver in a caravan. The Meeting place is determined for each tour and provided at time of booking. We are licensed, insured and operate with permits for beaches and Na Ala Hele State trails. zz

About the founder Karen Tilley

Since she moved here 24 years ago, Karen has been leading residents and visitors on guided tours and hikes to experience the beauty of this breathtaking island. Originally from Toronto, Canada, she is a naturalist, with a keen plant identification knowledge of the many ecosystems here. If you are looking to see a particular kind of tree or plant she likely knows exactly where to find it close by! Living here for so long, she knows quite a lot of people as well as a great familiarity with the places she guides people to. Safety is her main priority and knows places suitable for all mobility levels.
That being said, Karen’s main passion is to learn!
Some of her favorite things to do are to immersed in nature, listening to forest birds, playing in swimming holes and in waterfall pools, singing, photography, Kayaking, SUPing, and snorkeling.

TRIVIA : Are you familiar with the Tilley Hat? The inventor, Alex Tilley, is her father. His biography "The Endurable Alex Tilley” has just been released on Amazon. Like her father’s motto, (a boy scout) she is always Prepared for Adventure!
