ANSWERS TO COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you drive us? No. A rental vehicle is essential for the tour. Our guide rides in your car as a passenger/navigator, or she or he leads and you follow in a caravan style. It's fast and easy to rent a car here, and we can help with that. Customers appreciate the orientation of the towns, streets, speed zones, and one lane bridges, and getting familiar with location of the limited or hidden parking for Kauai’s renowned beaches or trailheads. Kauai roads are easy to drive. There is just one highway that travels the coast. 50 MPH is the maximum and the highway limit drops to 25 MPH through towns. Can we do minimal walking ? Absolutely. Private tours give us the ability to custom-craft the tour to your precisely your needs.

How many people can come? The maximum is 25. ( if you have a huge group!) There is an additional charge for each person.

Where do we meet the guide? The Meet up location for the selected tour is sent at time of booking.

Is lunch provided? No. We stop at wonderful food trucks or restaurants, or some prefer to pack a picnic. We bring a cooler with tropical fruit snacks and bottled water. We encourage customers to bring along refillable water bottles to reduce waste.

Do you have a lower rate if it's just me who wants to do a tour? There is a chance there is availability for a solo tour so please enquire.

What if it is predicted to rain or is raining hard? When there is a Flash Flood Warning ( a very rare event), tours are cancelled and all money refunded. We go rain or shine. The weather man can say it's going to rain, when it will be a .25 of an inch 60 miles away. Rain means vibrant rainbows and raindrops on flowers. Kauai has extremely variable weather so don't worry.

What do we pack?

water ( 1 liter each minimum)
sun protection ( sunblock/hat)
snacks
camera with extra battery
phone and battery charger
day backs each (a purse is fine if sightseeing)
Footwear determines what we see and do, so please make sure everyone has appropriate shoes! Think sandals and trail runners ( running shoes /hiking shoes )
mosquito repellent ( if you are allergic to them) and epipen
